OSAFU: Joseph Reimer Convicted

This is one story, out of many, that we hear of and wonder if it’s all an Urban Legend used to scared helpless girls much like they did with folklore and fairytales back in olden times. But folklore and fairytale are usually not far from truth, and neither is the story concerning James Reimer, a 41 year old man who was a family friend of 14 year old Deborah Fourzan. After inappropriate texts were found on her phone, the parents prohibited them with speaking to one another. Though that was the mandate, the two met up and took off allegedly heading to anime cons without her parents knowing.
The Otaku community was ablaze with information on the web, on forums, blogs and even in eblasts, trying to make sure if someone spotted Reimer and Fourzan that they would contact the authorities.
The two were found in Washington State after being pulled over for a traffic violation and Reimer was taken into custody.
No one really knows what went on between the two, or whether or not he actually abducted her, or was this the case of a stupid young girl, with a more idiotic, and obviously, unintelligent man living in a fantasy land where moe is the reality, and driving to conventions for the rest of their lives the norm.
As reported by the Seattle Times, “Joseph Reimer pleaded guilty Friday (December 18th, 2009) to felony charges of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology and maliciously enticing a child.”
